Psalms 23, and The God Who Supplies All Needs

Consider “All” the wonderful names of God in His character as “Jehovah”. He is the almighty, the all powerful, and the all knowing covenant keeping God. All the names you will see are for each of us, fulfilled in us, only by Jesus Christ if you believe. The titles of the Lord Jehovah are ever present in Psalms 23. When we focus on God Himself, and His character, you will come to see that He is forever present.

“Psalms of the Divine Shepherd; A Psalm of David”

Psalms 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd” –
Jehovah ROHI “The Lord Our Shepherd” – That’s Relationship. Jesus said that He is the Good Shepherd, and He laid down His life for His sheep. “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” (John‬ ‭10:11‬)

“I shall not want” –
Jehovah JIREH “The Lord will Provide” – That’s Supply

Psalms 23:2 “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures” – That’s Rest
“He leadeth me beside the still waters” – That’s Refreshment

Psalms 23:3 “He restoreth my soul”
Jehovah RAPHA “The Lord Who Heals” – That’s Healing
“He leadeth me in the path of righteousness,”
Jehovah TSIDKENU “The Lord Our Righteousness” – That’s Guidance
“For His name’s sake” – That’s purpose

Psalms 23:4 “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death” – That’s Testing
“I will fear no evil” –
Jehovah Shalom “The Lord Our Peace” – That’s Protection
“For thou art with me” –
Jehovah Shammah “The Lord Is There” – That’s Faithfulness
“Thy rod and thy staff comfort me” – That’s Discipline

Psalms 23:5 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies” –
Jehovah NISSI “The Lord Our Banner” – That’s a Fighter (He’ll fight your battles)
“Thou anointest my head with oil” –
Jehovah M’KADDESH “The Lord Who Sanctifies, Make Holy” – That’s Consecration
“My cup runneth over” – That’s Abundance

Psalms 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life” – That’s Blessings
“And I will dwell in the house of the Lord” –
Jehovah SABAOTH “The Lord of Hosts” – That’s Security
“Forever” El Olam “Everlasting God” – That’s Eternity

God’s nature is without beginning or end, free from all constraints of time, and He contains within Himself the very cause of time itself. “From everlasting to everlasting, He is God!”
